Etching highly realistic imagery onto polished stone surfaces is a new technique relative to the ancient craft of stone carving, gaining popularity only in the late 20th century. Still a relatively obscure art form, etching is most often employed by the monument industry on granite tombstones. Since 2004 I have engraved thousands of images on stone monuments now on display throughout the country, and have expanded the technique into more creative bodies of fine art work.
