ABOUT

KELTY CAREW

Raised by a family of artisans in Madison, Wisconsin, I developed an admiration for master craftsmanship from an early age. I have had the privilege of serving my community as an artist for the majority of my life through commissioned paintings, as a monument artist, a community muralist, and finally as a tattooer. I thrive on the collaborative nature of my work, and its power to inspire, commemorate, heal, and transform.

I taught myself to hand-engrave stone at age 17, and have worked professionally in the monument industry since 2004. My bachelor’s degree in art comes from UW-Madison, and my graduate work is through the Edgewood College Social Innovation and Sustainability Leadership Program. Starting in 2014 I worked as a lead artist through Dane Arts Mural Arts and launched my engraving business serving monument companies in addition to engraving original creative works. I began a tattooing full time in 2015, and love my team at Lost Lakes Tattoo!
